Trainee Accountant - AAT

Business profile: We are a friendly small accountancy practice in Edgbaston B15 who look after their staff and want you to be part of the growth of the practice. Our clients thrive on our personal service and we seek a likeminded individual who has the hunger and drive to succeed in this career path.

Job description: A position has become available in our Accounts department for a Trainee Accountant. The main job role entails the preparation of Limited Company, sole trader and partnership Financial Statements and Tax Returns for a portfolio of clients. Other ad hoc office duties will need to also be undertaken as and when required such as dealing with emails and client queries in an efficient manner.

Suitability: The role would suit a school leaver or college leaver who is currently studying the AAT qualification and has their mind set on becoming a qualified accountant in practice. We would allow the successful candidate to continue to study towards achieving their AAT qualification (and subsequently ACCA) and we will support this with study leave. Experience of using Microsoft Office suite is essential and experience of using bookkeeping software would be desired. You must be a good communicator and well organised to manage task lists and workloads in an efficient manner. Previous experience of working in an accountancy practice or an office environment would also be preferred but not essential. We will train the candidate in areas they have not encountered before.
